iOS 14.8 Released!

Apple just released iOS 14.8 to the public!

Today, Apple has released iOS version 14.8 to the public, even though iOS 15 will be coming out to the public in only a few days, and only has some "Security updates", so what does this update contain, and why was it put out only a few days before iOS 15 comes out.

First, Apple's official release notes state that there are "Security updates". Articles from 9to5Mac and CitizenLab suggest that this updates patches a new exploit that defeats the iPhone's Blastdoor protections.

Also suggested by 9to5Mac, this update also firmly proves Apple's plans to keep iOS 14 around when iOS 15 releases.

Finally, users noticed that sometimes, there would be a popup showing the user what's coming in iOS 15, which sends them to the Tips app.
