Apple delays CSAM detection system

Apple today sent out letters to mainstream news outlets (can also be seen to child safety page by apple) that they have delayed their CSAM detection system.

Apple today added a statement in their child safety page that based on people’s feedbacks which could likely be criticisms, negative feedbacks, etc., they have decided to take additional time over the coming months to add more features and improve before releasing them, delaying their CSAM detection system.

Previously we announced plans for features intended to help protect children from predators who use communication tools to recruit and exploit them and to help limit the spread of Child Sexual Abuse Material. Based on feedback from customers, advocacy groups, researchers, and others, we have decided to take additional time over the coming months to collect input and make improvements before releasing these critically important child safety features.

There is currently no date when will it be released but it could likely be released in the next few months if not, next year.

Incase you missed stuff, you can read more about the CSAM detection system here.
